We’re working towards a single Parking Permit Policy to manage all parking permits in Whitehorse.

This work began in 2022 with a review of our Residential Parking Permit scheme, informed by feedback from more than 1,200 residents through community engagement.

We’re currently:

• reviewing how trader parking permits operate across 7 shopping areas in Whitehorse
• exploring the idea of additional single calendar day residential parking permits.

We are in round 1, gathering ideas from the community. In round 2, we will release draft plans for further feedback.

Later this year, the full Parking Permit Policy will be presented to Council for consideration. It will include the:

• updated Trader Parking Permit Scheme
• existing Residential Parking Permit Scheme (with the potential addition of single day residential parking permits)
• existing Construction and Miscellaneous Parking Permit schemes, which are all being incorporated unchanged.
