Mid-term and long-term Parking in Box Hill for Skybus users

Council is exploring whether there is a need for mid-term or long-term parking for people travelling from Box Hill to Melbourne Airport. This could include weekly parking or parking for the length of an airport trip.

SkyBus now offers an Eastern Express service from Box Hill to Melbourne Airport, giving travellers another way to get to the airport.

One possible location for this type of parking is Council’s Harrow Street car park in Box Hill. The car park is about a 250–300 metre walk from the SkyBus pick-up point and is currently underutilised, with good availability across its five levels.

We want to understand whether people would use longer-term parking in this area and what would make it convenient and practical. Your feedback will help Council learn how people currently travel to the airport from Box Hill and whether extending the existing one-day parking limit could be useful.

There is capacity at the Harrow Street car park to support longer-term parking while still keeping spaces available for other users.

This engagement is about understanding demand and user needs. Your input will help Council decide what options to investigate further and whether long-term parking for airport travellers (via Skybus) should be explored in more detail.
