How do these plans affect me?

These plans affect everybody in Whitehorse and guide the day-to-day and long-term decisions of Council. Council uses these plans to considers things like:

    • facilities built or renovated over the next 10 years

    • community programs and services provided

    • improvements to road and path networks

    • how parks, trees and open spaces are cared for

    • support for local businesses

    • how to improve the health and wellbeing of the community

    • the level of fees and charges

    • and so much more.

How will Council use my feedback?

The community’s feedback will be used to shape:

    • Where we want to be in 4 years

    • How we will get there.

Your feedback through Stage 1 consultation will be reviewed to identify community priorities and themes. These will be written up in a Findings Report and made publicly available.

In Stage 2, the Shaping Whitehorse Community Panel will use the Stage 1 findings (and other important information about Whitehorse) to develop a set of recommendations for Council to consider. This will also be written up in a Stage 2 Findings Report and made publicly available.

Council will consider both findings reports, alongside the Whitehorse 2040 Community Vision, input from Council staff and other important information to develop and review its key plans.
