We would like your feedback on the Draft Walker Park Master Plan

The Draft Walker Park Master Plan survey has now been updated to make it easier for everyone to have their say. Feedback will now close on Sunday 29 March. Please complete the new survey even if you completed the old one.

Located on Whitehorse Road in Nunawading, Walker Park is an icon of the local area and the Draft Master Plan has attracted a diverse range of interest from different community groups. Currently, the park offers a variety of sporting and recreational opportunities, such as AFL, cricket, gymnastics, tennis, walking, dog walking and play. With limited space available to accommodate all groups, we want the community’s feedback to help us shape the park’s future over the next 15 years.

The Master Plan will set the vision and direction for Walker Park to meet the needs of our changing and growing community, complementing the adjacent civic centre precinct including the newly built Performing Arts Centre, known as “The Round”.

In 2024, we asked the community to share ideas for the future of Walker Park. Using your feedback, along with detailed research, we have developed a Draft Master Plan to guide the park’s future. We encourage you to read the Walker Park Draft Master Plan Study Report and the Walker Park Stakeholder Engagement Report to learn more about what has informed the Draft Walker Park Master Plan.

The proposed changes to Walker Park over the next 15 years include:

  • New district gymnastics centre to serve 550+ members
  • Two new multi-purpose netball and tennis courts with floodlights, available for seasonally allocated club-use and for free public hire
  • A new play space with fitness equipment
  • Upgraded football and cricket facilities including improved change rooms for female participants
  • New pedestrian circuit and increased tree canopy for improved accessibility and biodiversity
  • Creation a passive recreation area for rest and relaxation

Other proposed changes:

  • Removal of the existing tennis courts
  • Removal of Pigeon Club

Please take the time to complete the survey and share your feedback.

An Expression of Interest (EOI) is also open for you to register your interest in participating in a focus group. The focus group is separate to the survey and will consider the survey results and provide suggestions on how the feedback could shape the final Master Plan. You are encouraged to register your interest before the closing date of 12 March 2026. The focus group will now take place on 17 March from 7pm until 8:30pm. All selected focus group participants will receive a free Aqualink family pass.
