Council has completed its Vision for the Suburban Rail Loop (East) project public open spaces and its integration into the Box Hill activity centre. The Vision will be a key advocacy document used by Council to input into the development of this State Government project, and to seek to positively influence the urban realm outcomes to make Box Hill a great place for all.
The Vision focuses on 4 key areas within Box Hill that are likely to be developed as part of the SRLE project.
This includes the redesign of the Box Hill Mall (Market Street and Main Street), the Whitehorse Road Linear Reserve and the Pedestrian Promenade (connection from Whitehorse Road to the Box Hill Gardens).
Community consultation was completed in late 2023 and confirmed the Council Vision is aligned with community priorities and expectations.
Please note, this Vision will inform but is separate from the Precinct Planning process SRL are completing.
