The City of Whitehorse will show its support for Reconciliation with Whitehorse City Council Mayor Councillor Tina Liu raising the Aboriginal flag at the Council offices and a Wurundjeri Elder will perform a Welcome to Country.

National Sorry Day recognises the impact of Australian historical policies, practices and attitudes on First Nations people. Council’s flag raising ceremony will commemorate past injustices and honour the ongoing survival of the world’s oldest living culture.

National Sorry Day is the start of Reconciliation Week, which runs annually from 27 May to 3 June.
