Shaping Whitehorse

Project Update 22 July 2024

Thank you to everyone who completed our Shaping Whitehorse Community Survey. We received feedback from over 1400 stakeholders from the Whitehorse community, including residents and special interest groups. There were 429 surveys completed and we had input and responses from over 790 community members at our 10 pop-ups between March and May 2024.

We have collated all the responses to develop the findings report that is now available for our community to read. You can access a copy of the findings report to the right of this page under the Documents heading.

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest and submitted their nomination to be a part of the Shaping Whitehorse Community Panel.

The community panel is currently being assembled to ensure members represents the diverse perspectives and demographics of the Whitehorse community. We are preparing to commence at the end of July 2024.

Whether you are selected to participate or not, please know that your willingness to engage and contribute plays a crucial role in our community's development.

We are committed to ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard and contribute to shaping the future of our city.

Shaping Whitehorse: Council’s priorities for 2025 - 2029

Help shape Council’s major long-term community, health, assets and financial plans.

In March, we asked you to fill out a survey with your ideas for a Whitehorse you would be excited to live, work and play in.

Now that the survey has closed, we now move to stage 2 consultation: The Shaping Whitehorse Community Panel.

Later this year, a new Council will be elected. The first important task will be for Council to develop and review a range of major plans that set the priorities for the next four years.

These plans affect everybody in Whitehorse. They guide the day-to-day work of Council as well as longer-term decisions. This includes things like the services Council provides, the buildings and facilities and works it invests in, and how it supports the health and wellbeing of the community and environment.

The community and panel feedback will be used to check in with the Whitehorse 2040 Community Vision to confirm and ensure it still reflects the community’s hopes and aspirations for the future. This Vision was developed in 2020 by the Whitehorse community and is an important document that Council uses to guide its key plans.

This is your opportunity to share your ideas, so we can create a roadmap to 2029 that reflects community priorities and takes us closer to the Whitehorse 2040 Vision.
