Project updates - Minor design changes

Due to regulation and product changes, Council wishes to advise the community on the following minor changes to the Scott Grove Park design:

  • Due to recent regulation change, the fitness equipment needs to be physically separated from the play space. Please see the revised Site Plan for the updated location.
  • Due to the supplier renewing their product range, the originally specified fitness equipment has now been replaced by an enhanced design with one additional function. Please see the new fitness equipment information here.
  • Changes have been made to the colour scheme and play units of the play equipment suite based on the feedback received on the Concept Design. Please see the updated visualisations for the final play equipment suite.

The minor changes will not cause any delays in the construction program. Construction is expected to finish in June 2023.

Consultation has concluded for this project.

Background

In November 2019 Council purchased the properties at 14 and 16 Scott Grove, Burwood. This land was purchased in line with Council’s Open Space Strategy (2007) to develop a new small local open space. Converting this property into a park will deliver much-needed public open space in this neighbourhood and provide a new space for local residents to enjoy.

Initial community consultation was carried out during 4 - 18 April 2022 to collect ideas on the new open space. A good volume of ideas and local knowledge was shared with us and helped inform the concept design development. (View Community Consultation Summary here)

*The Scott Grove New Open Space is supported by the Victorian Government through the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning Open Space Program.
