Road Management Plan 2025

Your feedback:

Council asked the community for feedback on proposed changes to how we look after roads and footpaths (26 May–25 June 2025). Over 1,000 people visited the project page, and 115 submissions were received.

What people said
  • Many wanted footpaths and potholes repaired sooner, even if it costs more.
  • Most preferred fixing footpaths when the height difference is 15–20mm.
  • Most wanted more spending on roads and footpaths.
  • Common issues raised included safety, accessibility, tree roots, lighting, and road surface conditions.
What Council changed
  • Footpath repair height difference lowered from 20mm to 15mm.
  • Footpath repair times were shortened for all path types.
  • Extra funding was added this year, with future budgets to consider more.

The amended Road Management Plan was adopted on 13 October 2025 and will start on 16 February 2026.
