Proposed amended Road Management Plan 2025
We’ve made some changes to our Road Management Plan to improve how we manage road maintenance requests, inspections and repairs.
The Road Management Plan outlines how councils take care of local roads and footpaths.
Whitehorse’s Road Management Plan explains how we inspect, repair, and maintain public roads and footpaths, including the standards and priorities we follow. It establishes a system and sets performance standards for road management functions.
We’ve reviewed our Road Management Plan to ensure it remains current with evolving standards, legislation and community needs. We have determined that the Road Management Plan needs to be amended, and we are inviting public submissions on the draft amended Road Management Plan 2025.
What do the proposed amendments include:
The Draft amended Road Management Plan 2025 is consistent with the latest industry standard template from the Municipal Association of Victoria.
Key attachments (in the Document Library) provide details on inspection schedules, response times, and the kinds of repairs required. Ultimately, the plan needs to balance safety, legal obligations, and budget constraints to maintain public infrastructure responsibly.
How to get involved:
You can review the draft amended Road Management Plan 2025 and documentation of the changes here or in person at the Whitehorse Civic Centre at 379-397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading.
Once you have read the supporting documentation then:
- Complete the survey below by 25 June 2025
- Submit your feedback in writing
All submissions will be presented to Council for consideration before the draft plan is adopted. The draft amended Road Management Plan 2025 will be presented to Council for adoption in August or September 2025.
