Thanks to everyone who participated in our community consultation about improvements to RHL Sparks Reserve in 2023.
Our Your Say page was viewed by almost 1,000 people, and we received 190 responses to our survey. Read more in our consultation report here.
The community was largely supportive of our proposal to install a synthetic sports field surface, upgrade the lighting and build a fence around the new field.
However, we also received some questions, suggestions and concerns about aspects of the project. In response to feedback, we have made some changes including:
- Developing a new access path from the pavilion to the pitch
- Sealing the existing car park to make it more accessible for residents to access the reserve
- Making the sports field available to the public when not in use by the clubs
- Installing behind goal netting on the residential side to manage ball control
- Redesigning the pitch arrangement of the field to support more junior programs (there will be one senior and five junior pitches)
- Adding goal storage to ensure goals will be kept out of sight when not in use
- Not removing any significant trees.
