Prices for Council Places and Spaces

Consultation has concluded

Feedback on Prices for Council Places and Spaces closed on 9 October 2022.

Project update

Thank you to everyone who provided their feedback on our consultation.  Read our project update here.

We are currently preparing pricing frameworks concepts for a second round of community consultation in early 2023.

Project information

Council owns many places and spaces that can be accessed by people and groups.

In September 2022, we asked what our community values about our places and spaces. We are using this information to review our pricing principles and frameworks for leasing, licencing or hiring our facilities.

We recognise that when you or your community group accesses our facilities, you experience a whole range of benefits, such as meeting people, making friends, being physically active, learning new things, or being part of a community group.

Providing these places and spaces comes at a financial cost to Council. The intent of this engagement is to help us understand the ‘social return’ on the financial investment.

A greater understanding of the social value of our facilities will help inform the development of a set of pricing frameworks that support a healthy and connected community.
