Do you like the parks, reserves, play spaces and sports fields in Whitehorse?
We invited community feedback on our draft Whitehorse Open Space Strategy to guide the protection and enhancement of the open spaces network over the next 15 years.
The proposed actions in our draft strategy will help our parks, sports fields, play spaces, and nature reserves meet the needs of our growing community and create a liveable city.
Whitehorse has almost 350 parks, more than 20 bushland reserves, about 175 play spaces, with ‘open space’ making up more than 11% of the municipality.
The draft strategy is developed based on extensive community consultation including 2,250 survey responses and community group workshops.
Your feedback will help Council refine the proposed actions to better reflect community’s needs.
Key proposed features of the draft strategy include:
- Recommendations for every individual open space in Whitehorse
- Creating new public open spaces
- Expanding existing open spaces
