Nunawading, MegaMile (East) and Mitcham Structure Plan Review - Please share your views!

Consultation has concluded

Mitcham Sidewalk

What is the Study About?

Council is reviewing and updating the 2008 Structure Plan for the Nunawading, MegaMile (East) and Mitcham activity centres.

The current Structure Plan has guided land use and development in the activity centres over the last 10 years and many of the actions have been implemented.

A renewed vision is required that will promote the enhancement of public spaces and ease of pedestrian movement while fostering a strong sense of community over the coming years.

This will ensure that a framework is in place to support an appropriate level of change and to anticipate any issues that may arise during this change.

What is a Structure Plan?

A Structure Plan guides changes to land use, built form and public spaces in the Activity Centre. Together these changes can achieve positive economic, social and environmental outcomes.

A Structure Plan identifies where the activity centre can accommodate:

  • housing
  • retail and employment opportunities
  • community facilities
  • public open space
  • transport and access linkages
  • and other services

This ensures that the centre is a place where people can live, shop, work, meet and enjoy.

How can you participate?
