Morack Public Golf Course and Driving Range Redevelopment

Whitehorse City Council is redeveloping the popular Morack Public Golf Course and Driving Range into a contemporary community facility that will provide diverse leisure and social opportunities for golf enthusiasts and the wider Whitehorse community to enjoy.

The redevelopment includes:

• A multipurpose golf pavilion with inside/outside café overlooking the picturesque golf course and bushland surrounds;

• A 25-bay driving range with premium bays for group functions and hospitality services and;

• An 18-hole premium adventure mini-golf facility.

Why is the Redevelopment Needed?

The redevelopment is an outcome of the Morack Public Golf Course Strategic Plan. The plan acknowledges the ageing facilities at Morack and notes the limited social and hospitality offerings not meeting the current needs of existing and new patrons.

Council’s proposed design aims to transform Morack into a facility that’s:

• More inclusive and inviting for families;

• Attractive to corporate hospitality;

• Has modern technology in line with golfing industry trends; and

• Meets the needs of serious golfers and mini-golfers alike.

For more information about the redevelopment, including facility operations, please see the FAQs found on the far right of this webpage.

Review of Name

The facility is called Morack Public Golf Course and Driving Range but is known by different names, including Morack Golf. As part of this project, Council is therefore considering whether to update the name for the new contemporary facility.

We are interested in what the community thinks the important considerations are when settling on a name. We are reviewing the need to confirm one of these as the ‘correct’ name, or perhaps even to update the name.

Any decision to significantly change the name would be made by Council, and would take into account further community feedback and consultation.

Survey questions relating to the name will be included in this Your Say project.

We Want to Hear from You!

Your feedback on the redevelopment can help shape the works and influence some elements of the proposed design, such as:

• General exterior colours as represented on the 3D images;

• Layout of the car park and access roads;

• Pedestrian access between the car park and building entry;

• Pedestrian access throughout the precinct;

• Signage; and

• Lighting treatments.

Have your say by completing the survey below. Comments will be received until 25 October 2021.
