Feedback on the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2022 closed on 10 April 2022.

The Whitehorse Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP) highlights a strategic framework that aims to assist in educating the community on responsible pet ownership issues, promoting the benefits of pet ownership, ensuring appropriate levels of community compliance are in place and raising the profile and importance of effective domestic animal management.

Our DAMP 2021-25 sets actions and activities to be delivered over four years. These can include new or improved programs and services or changes to existing Local Laws and Council orders (restrictions) for domestic animals.

First year actions - Engagement

One of the first year actions from the DAMP is consultation about dog on and off lead provisions across Council, with consideration of variations to the scope and structure of off-lead dog access and provisions across all of Councils parks and reserves.

Feedback on the Domestic Animal Management Plan is open until 10 April 2022.
