Council’s Meeting Cycle & Governance Rules

Feedback on Council's Meeting Cycle and Governance Rules consultation closed on 15 September 2021.

Council is seeking community feedback on proposed changes to its monthly council meeting cycle and governance rules.

Currently, council meetings are held once a month, with a delegated committee meeting also held monthly.

It is proposed that the delegated committee meeting will be replaced with a second council meeting. The Council meetings will be held on 1st and 3rd Monday of the month (excluding January). It is also proposed to introduce a public presentation segment to council meetings, so community members could have their say on a range of topics.

These proposed changes will simplify the council meeting cycle, but also provide greater accessibility to council and enhance transparency.

Council’s governance rules set out how meetings are conducted, including presentation of items, meeting structure and timing.
