We’re inviting the community to have their say on proposed changes to the policy that manages the Whitehorse Art Collection.
We’re updating our Collections Policy which guides the management, conservation, development and exhibition of the Whitehorse Art Collection and the Civic Collection.
The Whitehorse Art Collection includes over 2,100 artworks, from historic Australian Impressionist pieces to contemporary ceramics, urban landscapes, and portraits.
The Civic Collection preserves more than 850 items, celebrating Whitehorse’s heritage and civic achievements.
We’re proposing some changes to our Collections Policy to:
- Improve cultural diversity
- Address the gap in representation of artwork by women
- Develop areas of focus for acquisitions.
The engagement seeks to articulate and explore the value of the Collections to community.
